As always, I have no freaking idea what’s going on because ALL I have are subtitles and nothing else (the Wikipedia page for Mr. 6 is rather…empty). However, does this NOT look awesome or what?
Like most K-Poppers, I was drawn to this movie because of Wu Yifan, or Kris Wu, a former member and leader of super gigantic internationally famous K-Pop boyband EXO, before hiking a ride out of town to be a super gigantic internationally famous solo singer and actor.
One of Kris’s reason for leaving his company, SM Entertainment (they have a reputation for their top stars getting the hell out of dodge because of mistreatment) was they kept turning down acting roles for him, while some of his other band members were almost buried in them (Kyungsoo. I’m talking to you). Apparently one day the Canadian-Chinese rapper couldn’t take it anymore. SM lost a leader to their group and EXO lost a friend. (Two more would soon be leaving. SM…has a little bit of a problem…)
Here we see why that was a big mistake. Kris is giant on screen, playing his role with an surety and touch of evilness that his squeaky clean boy band image wouldn’t have handled without some nice little foreplay from SM.
This most certainly makes me want to go see the movie. I can’t wait.
Release and now relax,
